Providing EL students with comprehensive support for all areas of their development (affective, cognitive and linguistic) is our department's chief concern. We serve all identified EL students whose parents say "Yes," to program participation (in Bilingual or ESL); therefore, these students will receive benefits and services. The benefits and services are provided to ensure that EL students meet the state English fluency standards.
EL students whose parents say "No", do not receive any linguistic development services, despite a demonstrated lack of fluency in the English language. They are still required to meet the state English fluency standards but they are not given the benefits/services of program participation.
Parents that say "No" to the receipt of bilingual/ESL services, can help their EL children meet the state English fluency standards by enrolling them to receive our benefits/services at any time during the school year.
Call your child's school today, enroll them in the Bilingual/ESL program and say "YES!" to success.
